Ecuadorian law firm Torres Saldaña launches

The firm was founded by Diego Torres Borja, a lawyer specialized in corporate, notarial, banking, commercial and commercial litigation, who began his professional practice in 1978, and Elías Torres Saldaña, an expert in criminal and constitutional law, human rights and anti-corruption and compliance.

After several years of practice and professional experience as public officials in the city of Quito and Cuenca, the two decided to combine their knowledge, skills and aptitudes and form Torres Saldaña Abogados.

“The specialized law firm proposes to maintain the excellence and principles under which we were trained, and that embraces the changes that have arisen in recent years to meet the requirements of clients in a personalized way,” the firm said in a statement.

Co-founding partner Diego José Torres Saldaña holds a PhD in jurisprudence and a law degree from the University of Cuenca, and is an expert in administrative law, public contracting, insurance, auditing and regulatory matters.

He has been trained in anti-money laundering and anti-corruption practices, and also practices sanctions and disciplinary law, especially before the country’s regulatory agencies.

He has worked at the Court of Justice of the Andean Community of Nations.

The firm’s other co-founding partner, Elías Santiago Torres Saldaña, holds a law degree from the University of Cuenca and has worked in the Attorney General's Office and in the Constitutional Court of Ecuador.

Since August 2015, he has been a scholarship holder of the National Council of Science and Technology of the Government of Mexico to pursue his Master's and Doctorate studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
